Coming up: Football Canada Cup!

I've enjoyed the Football Canada Cup tournament since I attended a few of the games when the event was held in Ottawa in 2002.

I didn't originally intend to include it on this blog, preferring to focus on national teams.  But being that the players sent to Austin Texas for the International Bowl were the top participants from the 2013 of the Football Canada Cup tourney, it seems to make sense to do so going forward. Early July's going to be a busy time; this year's edition of the FCC and the IFAF's U19 tournament overlap.

A specific point of interest for anyone new to the tournament or who has only given it passing interest; there may be a bit of a rivalry building up.  Québec has won the last three of these, all at the expense of the Alberta provincial team, including one played in Lethbridge.  For Team Alberta, that has to be getting old.

There will be a page built at top right to display the list of champions per year and whatever other quick reference material I can think, though honestly Football Canada does a good job of recording the history of this event.  I'll still do it i the interest of one-stop shopping, and of course collect whatever newspaper articles I come across in regards to the event.
