Best of the Best: 2006 NFL Global Championship team

I don't mean to dwell on the NFL's Global Junior Championship, since it has been discontinued for some time and there are other events to record or look forward to.  But while researching information for the various pages across the top of the blog, something struck me as being particularly noteworthy about Canada's results in this version of the tournament.

The 2006 team not only won gold but they shut out all five of their opponents, including Team USA twice. Here are their results.

That's impressive and an accomplishment that should have been better publicised.  Granted, in this tournament, Team USA could only form a team from within the Superbowl host state and that year, that was Michigan.  It may not be considered on par with areas like Texas or Florida in terms of football talent, but it is hardly barren.
