The inaugural IFAF Junior World Championships, consisting of 8 national U-20 teams, was held in Canton, Ohio, from Saturday, June 27, to Sunday, July 5 2009. The United States beat Canada by a score of 41-3.
The 2012 tournament was modified to a U-19 version and held in Austin, Texas. The Canadians defeated the United States 23-17. In 2014, the Americans reclaimed the gold, defeating Canada 40-17 in Kuwait.
